Our drilling equipment is built with the highest quality raw materials: drill tubes as well as tool joint have the maximum mechanical characteristics, guaranteed by origin and testing certificates according to the UNI, ISO and API specifications.
Furthermore, drill tubes must correspond to API specifications API 5CT, that means they are made of steel in S135 grade with a mechanical resistance which is 30-40% superior to the steel commonly used for manufacturing drill pipes (N80 grade).
As a result of all our choice, a lighter drill pipe is obtained: the mechanical resistance of drill tubes depends on the high quality standard of the material, not on the wall thickness! Also the tool joint material offers an increased wear resistance and higher strength in the threaded connections.
With a new friction welding machine able to work with drill tubes with a maximum O.D. of 220 mm. we can apply the friction welding process to the most of our product range.
After cutting, before friction welding, our drill tubes are checked in order to control their linearity, and eventually, straightened with a roller straightening machine.
